Originally from Minnesota, Regan Mies is a writer and translator based in New York. She currently teaches undergraduate creative writing at Columbia University, where she received her MFA and served as Director of Columbia Artist/Teachers. She is also a jury advisor with cross-cultural organization New Books in German and an instructor with the Columbia Pre-College Program. Previously, she taught English in Hamburg with the support of a Fulbright grant and worked in the editorial department at Abrams Books.

Regan’s reviews and interviews have appeared in the Whitney Review of New Writing, LA Review of Books, the Cleveland Review of Books, Necessary Fiction, and more; her short fiction and translations have appeared in Transletting, the Asymptote blog, No Man’s Land, On the Seawall, and elsewhere.
